Sustainability and eco-friendly materials
Global warming and other environmental concerns are making the headlines of news outlets Australia wide. It’s not surprising then that many Australian consumers are looking to lessen their carbon footprint.
“Sustainability is at the heart of anything that is being manufactured today. Recycling, repurposing, reinventing and reusing are all things that consumers are beginning to consider when they make purchases today.” – Michela Abrams, Dwell Home Design president
With this in mind, we predict that wooden garage doors will become an even more popular choice. 2017 is set to simplify things further with whites making a comeback. Paint manufacturer Benjamin Moore even went so far as naming ‘simply white’ as the 2017 home design colour of the year.

Art deco style and custom design
Art deco is one of those looks that seems to be constantly coming in and out of fashion. Despite this, US real estate and home improvement website Zillow is calling art deco the look of 2017.
We can read in one of their articles:
“Art deco will make a bold new comeback in 2016. Look for the style’s trademark geometric patterns and honeycomb shapes to weave their way into everything from wallpaper to artwork, adding elegance and dimension to any space.”
